Dispute between siblings sparks major police response in downtown Belmont

BELMONT, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Authorities said they’re investigating a domestic assault that happened between a brother and sister Tuesday afternoon in downtown Belmont.

Around 2:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a possible shooting at a home on 33 N. Main Street. When officers arrived, they reportedly found a woman with visible facial injuries and bleeding. She was conscious and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Also inside the home was her 62-year-old brother, who had minor scratches. He was taken to the hospital as well after complaining of pain in his side, police said…
