Alleged tiger sighting in south Charlotte is debunked

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – An alleged tiger sighting in south Charlotte has been debunked. A local man shared pictures on social media Wednesday morning that he says he got them from his Uber driver. The Uber driver told him she saw what looks like a tiger around 2AM in some woods behind an apartment complex off Providence Road.

We tracked down the Uber driver, who tells us she was really worried when she saw what she thought was a live animal and called 911. We checked with Animal Control, too. They did go out to the scene Thursday morning and confirmed the tiger is in fact a stuffed animal. We went out there too, to see it for ourselves…
