CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Six people have been killed in the crash on the I-485 outer loop in west Charlotte, according to Medic.
Traffic officials said the wreck was reported around 11:40 a.m. on Saturday near Exit 9 on I-485. Medic confirmed this is a serious accident with multiple patients. Tragically, six people were pronounced dead at the scene and one other was transported with non-life-threatening injuries.
Medic said this is still an active scene. A Queen City News photographer was at the scene around 2:30 p.m., and he said I-485 Outer was still completely shut down.
As a detour to avoid traffic or road closures, drivers can take Exit 10A to I-85 North, then take Exit 38 to I-77 South, and then back onto I-485.

Meanwhile, Medic also said they responded to another crash on I-485 at I-85 south, where one person was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. This is near the fatal accident, but it is a separate crash, Medic said…
