“They gave us hope,” Charlotte Fire saves mother hemorrhaging 13 days after giving birth

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A new Charlotte mother is safe and grateful for the help of the Charlotte Fire Department after they saved her while hemoragging less than two weeks removed from giving birth.

Just after 6 p.m. on July 5, the crew of Charlotte Fire Engine 10 responded to what became a life-or-death emergency. When they arrived and got up the steps to the family’s home, they saw blood on the floor and knew this was not a routine call.

“At that point, it was pretty evident that this was life-threatening. The crew immediately went in and started providing emergency care,” Captain John Booth said…
