Monroe man charged with series of felonies after being accused of selling cocaine, heroin

MONROE, N.C (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Monroe man was arrested early Friday morning after a search warrant alleged turned up felony amount of several narcotics at his home.

At approximately 4:40 a.m. Aug. 1, the Monroe Police Department’s Special Response Team (SRT), in collaboration with narcotics detectives, executed a search warrant in the 1800 block of Icemorlee Street. During the operation, officers charged and arrested 44-year-old Montrell Ravon Polk, who now faces a series of felonies, including:

  • Possession With Intent to Sell and Deliver (PWISD) Cocaine
  • Maintaining a Dwelling for the Sale of a Controlled Substance
  • Possession With Intent to Manufacture, Sell, and Deliver (PWIMSD) Marijuana
  • Trafficking Heroin
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
  • Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

In addition to Friday’s charges, Polk was already wanted on outstanding warrants for PWIMSD cocaine and conspiracy to sell or deliver cocaine.

Officers say he was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the Union County Detention Center. His conditions of release have not yet been set…
