CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police released their weekly crime reports, which show a 30.1 percent drop in homicides compared to last year.
Overall, violent crimes such as aggravated assaults and armed robbery are down significantly compared to 2024. CMPD says they’ve seen an 18.9 percent drop in aggravated assaults and a 28.9 percent drop in armed robberies.
Vehicle thefts, so far this year, have reached over 3800, compared to last year’s 4910 thefts (a 21.9 percent difference). Vehicle larcenies decreased by 0.2 percent…
