Crime report shows drop in violent crime, but rise in commerical burglaries across Mecklenburg County: CMPD

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police released their weekly crime reports, which show a 30.1 percent drop in homicides compared to last year.

Overall, violent crimes such as aggravated assaults and armed robbery are down significantly compared to 2024. CMPD says they’ve seen an 18.9 percent drop in aggravated assaults and a 28.9 percent drop in armed robberies.
