Mother fires shots into the air to break up fight at Charlotte back-to-school event: Court records

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Police have arrested a woman in connection with gunfire that caused panic at a back-to-school event in west Charlotte over the weekend.

According to Mecklenburg County court documents, Cherez Davis, 40, was taken into custody Saturday, August 9, after allegedly firing a gun into the air during a gathering of around 100 people at the C.W. Williams Community Health Center on Wilkinson Boulevard.
