CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The four police officers who fired their weapons at and killed a man to which they were attempting to serve a warrant in March did so justifiably, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg District Attorney’s office determined.
On March 7, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers went to the 12000 block of Headquarters Farm Road in northeast Charlotte to serve a warrant to Reggie Knight for a slew of felony charges. The DA says that when they knocked on the door, the suspect ignored multiple clear commands and instead fled on foot toward a neighboring residence.
As officers chased Knight, he allegedly shot in the direction of two of the officers, who eventually returned fire. Knight was killed, and the officers were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries…
