A woman from North Carolina is facing criminal charges after police say she fired a gun into the air at a crowded back-to-school event to stop a fight, causing panic among students and parents.
Police identified the suspect as 34-year-old Cherez Davis of Charlotte. She was arrested on Saturday, Aug. 9, and charged with carrying a hidden weapon and going armed to the terror of the public. Jail records show she was released on a $50,000 bond.
