Neighbors in riverside community closely watch lake levels after rainfall following extreme flooding events

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Now that Charlotte has seen more than six inches of rain fall over the first two weeks of August, which is much higher than usual, there’s concern about water levels in local lakes and the Catawba River.

Neighbors in Mecklenburg County who have experienced record flooding in the past are worried about what’s next.

“There was a dock house, sort of similar to this, and a dock sort of similar to this,” said Erik Jendresen, in his front yard right on the Catawba River.
