Sheriff says Mecklenburg County is not a sanctuary county

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden is responding to the Department of Justice’s most recently published list of sanctuary jurisdictions with policies that do not align with federal immigration laws.

In a statement on Wednesday, McFadden says he is reaffirming that Mecklenburg County is not a sanctuary county.
