The Matthews Police Department has announced a new member joining their ranks, as shared in a recent social media post. The MPD welcomed Officer Allison Wilson, a local of Matthews and a graduate from Independence High School in Mint Hill. According to a Facebook post by the Matthews Police Department, after her high school graduation in 2020, she pursued higher education at NC A&T where she secured her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice in 2024.
Officer Wilson’s journey into law enforcement continued as she recently completed her training at the Central Piedmont Community College Basic Law Enforcement Program (B.L.E.T.), gaining the necessary skills for her new role; her next step in her career will have her assigned to the Patrol Division at MPD. The Facebook announcement stated, “Please join us in welcoming Officer Allison Wilson into the MPD Family!”
