CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An investment group out of Washington state is working to be part of the solution to Charlotte’s housing crisis.
Crews are turning two former motels off of West Sugar Creek Road into an apartment complex. When construction is finished, there will be more than 200 studio apartments on the property.

Crews are hard at work stripping the old motels down and converting them into The Charlie Apartments. There are three buildings on the property. Two will house residents, and one will serve as a clubhouse complete with a fitness center, co-working space and more.
There’s already paint going on the walls in some apartments. The first 50 or so are expected to be completed by October. The rest should be done by the end of this year…
