CHARLOTTE, N.C. — North Carolina drivers could soon be paying tolls without transponders, bills or fumbling for a card. Instead, their cars would handle the transaction.
The North Carolina Turnpike Authority announced a pilot program this week in partnership with Volvo and Mastercard that would allow in-vehicle payment technology on state toll roads.
