CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Nearly three weeks after the random, violent stabbing on the Blue Line train that killed a 23-year-old woman, Charlotte transit leaders are hearing from concerned commuters.
Members of the Public Transit Advisory Committee got a safety update from CATS officials Wednesday afternoon. Part of their initial response after the light rail stabbing included increasing security on trains and platforms. Transit officials heard from people who ride on the Blue Line, where the attack happened, who said they’ve not seen any difference, and they’re frustrated.

“Since the incident, I still have not seen much of a response in terms of security,” said one man, who spoke during the public comment period of the meeting. “I know there’s been a lot of talk about what to do, but talk hasn’t really led to action.”
