Charlotte resident Erik Dezjhion Tillman, 29, has been sentenced to seven years in prison for assaulting federal officers. After his prison term, Tillman will serve two years of supervised release. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Russ Ferguson and Jamaal Thompson, Chief Inspector of the U.S. Marshals Service’s Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, court documents state that on November 8, 2024, Tillman was found asleep in a car. When awakened by law enforcement, he started the vehicle and rammed into the SUV of the apprehension team before fleeing on foot through a wooded area.
