Charlotte-based singer hospitalized after crash, driver charged

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-based pop singer Lynsea remains in intensive care with a traumatic brain injury after she was involved in a crash allegedly caused by an impaired driver on Saturday, according to a fundraising campaign established to help cover medical costs.

Lynsea, 31, was traveling to the airport with her sister when their vehicle was hit at the intersection of N. Tryon Street and E. 36th Street around 5 p.m., according to the Gofundme and court records.

Alphonso Lewis, 38, has been charged with serious injury by vehicle, reckless driving, failing to stop at a red light, and possession of marijuana in connection with the crash. The arrest warrant states Lewis caused Schurbon to suffer brain and skull injuries…
