(QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Schools on the south side of Charlotte were the highest rated public institutions in the metro area, according to a recent nationwide ranking.
Niche.com, an education research platform, compiles the rankings annually based on data from the Department of Education, National Center for Education Statistics and more, as well as reviews from students. Here are the best of the 2026 rankings for the Charlotte metro:
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools boost reading and math scores in 2024-25
Marvin Ridge High School in Union County came in 10th in the state, which includes traditional, charter and magnet public schools. Its Niche grade was an A+, with A subgrades for academics, clubs and activities and college prep.
