Bicyclist killed, Charlotte man charged in alleged hit-and-run in eastern Lincoln County

DENVER, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A bicyclist was killed and a Charlotte man was arrested in a reported hit-and-run Wednesday morning in eastern Lincoln County.

According to the N.C. State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at 3:05 a.m. on N.C. 73 near South Pilot Knob Road in the Cowans Ford area. That’s where troopers say a 2014 Honda CR-V traveling east struck a bicyclist.

After the collision, the Honda allegedly continued east on N.C. 73 into Mecklenburg County.  The victim’s bicycle was located near the Cowans Ford Dam Overlook.
