The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is implementing new security measures following the high-profile killing of a rider aboard a LYNX Blue Line train on Aug. 22 — an incident that prompted a federal investigation and calls for get-tough crime policies.
The new security measures, announced on Friday, will include additional training for the private police force contracted by CATS to provide security services on and near transit property.
