Charlotte high school student hurt in ‘incident off campus,’ district confirms

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Ballantyne Ridge High School student was hurt an incident Friday morning, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools leaders confirmed. District leaders would not say exactly what happened, citing privacy regulations, just that the incident occurred off campus.

“Emergency responders quickly arrived to address the situation, and the student’s family was immediately notified,” school leaders said, in part, in a message to Ballantyne Ridge families.

“As you drive on campus, please be mindful of those around you,” the message to families said. “We have many students walking and riding bikes and scooters to school and their safety, as well as the safety of all staff and students, is of the utmost importance. Operate your vehicles with caution on campus.”…
