Mecklenburg County judge removed from office eyeing Superior Court seat in 2026

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Mecklenburg County judge who was temporarily removed from the bench in 2024 is eyeing a higher seat next year.

Elizabeth Trosch announced her candidacy on Thursday for Superior Court seat 26H in the 2026 election to succeed Judge Louis A. Trosch Jr., who announced his retirement two days prior.

Elizabeth is Louis’ sister-in-law.
