Charlotte, NC, October 25, 2025: As communities across the United States mark Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a case from North Carolina has brought renewed attention to domestic disputes escalating into violence. A 44-year-old woman employed by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School (CMS) district has been charged with assaulting her husband with a knife following what police described as a heated argument over household chores.
According to a police report obtained by local media, Chandraprabha Singh, a teacher assistant at Endhaven Elementary School in south Charlotte, allegedly attacked her husband after becoming upset that he had not cleaned the house. The incident occurred on October 12, at the couple’s residence in the Ballantyne area.
Responding officers found the husband, identified in reports as Arvind Singh, with a serious neck injury consistent with a knife wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
