‘All in it together’: Advocates working to protect people with disabilities amid looming SNAP freeze

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — As a potential freeze of federal food stamps approaches, disability-rights advocates are fighting to ensure some of the state’s most vulnerable residents don’t go hungry.

On Nov. 1, millions of Americans could lose access to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, better known as SNAP, because of the ongoing government shutdown.
