‘We can’t wait’: Charlotte nonprofit moves fast to feed families as SNAP funding wavers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — With grocery prices climbing and federal food assistance programs facing uncertainty, a Charlotte nonprofit is stepping up to help families put food on the table — fast.

The Flourish Foundation Project, founded by Chanda Spates, is partnering with churches across North Carolina to stock shelves and distribute grocery gift cards. It’s an effort Spates says was born out of both urgency and compassion.
