CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A woman has been arrested after a loaded handgun was found in her bag during a security screening at the Mecklenburg County Courthouse, where the Scott Brooks murder trial is ongoing.
According to court documents, Dee Wendy Griffin entered the courthouse around 9:05 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12, and placed her purse on the security scanner belt.
When authorities noticed an unidentifiable object inside, they inspected the bag and found a loaded black Ruger .38 Special revolver, arrest records state.
