ALE forces Union County home to be sold after ‘repeated illegal activity’

STALLINGS, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Union County home targeted for alleged repeated illegal activity must now be sold after a state investigation.

The Stallings Police Department has reported repeated community complaints from a home on Pinecliff Court. The department eventually requested assistance from the N.C. Alcohol Law Enforcement to address it.

Based on ALE’s investigative findings, a civil nuisance abatement case was filed in Superior Court. NC statute defines nuisance activities to include, in part, crimes involving drug laws, recurring violence, breaches of the peace and Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) violations.

On Nov. 7, Superior Court Judge Jonathan Perry signed a consent judgment and final order of abatement. The statute provides a civil remedy to abate such criminal acts and their detrimental impact on the community…
