On November 21, 2025, a shooting occurred during the City of Concord’s Tree Lighting Ceremony. The Concord Police Department stated that the incident was a confrontation between two people who knew each other, not a random attack. Authorities have identified all individuals involved.
Police Chief Jimmy Hughes thanked the community, local businesses, and first responders for helping evacuate the area and limit injuries. With public assistance, police identified 18-year-old Nasir Ahmad Bostic of Concord as one of the suspects. Bostic is hospitalized in critical condition and faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inciting a riot.
A second suspect, a juvenile, was also identified and is in critical condition. The juvenile’s name has not been released due to North Carolina privacy laws. Similar charges have been filed through the Department of Juvenile Justice. Both suspects were among four people wounded by gunfire…
