Charlotte offering financial support for households that lost income during Border Patrol operation

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Charlotte city leaders are providing a total of $100,000 for people who were financially impacted by the US Customs and Border Patrol operation during the last week.

The funds, dispersed in partnership with Crisis Assistance Ministry (CAM), are to be used for support of rent and utility bills for households impacted by what the city calls “ongoing economic disruption across the community.” The Border Patrol’s “Operation Charlotte’s Web” was began enforcement over the weekend, reportedly targeting criminals who were in the country illegally.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, agents arrested 370 people in the Charlotte area for being in the country illegally as of Thursday afternoon…
