CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man has been sentenced to life for shooting and killing a 19-year-old man in front of his girlfriend, according to the Charlotte Mecklenburg District Attorney’s Office.
On Nov. 24, 2025, Trevor Powell was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Reggie E. McKnight after a jury found Powell guilty of the death of 19-year-old Jacquez Moore.
On Feb. 2, 2020, Moore and his girlfriend ate at a restaurant on Chancellor Park Drive and then took an Uber. While the vehicle was on the off-ramp from W.T.
