Five charged after CMPD raids “problem” property, seizes drugs and firearms

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Five people were charged after police recovered drugs and firearms during a search in Charlotte, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Officers did not say when this search happened or give an exact location for the search; however, police say the property is known as “The Carters” by residents in the area. Police say the area is a “known problem” for open-air drug sales.

CMPD says they’ve attempted to work with the building’s owner multiple times to address the ongoing illegal activity on the property, but they’ve been uncooperative…
