Davie County Deputies Arrest Four in Connection to $21K Walmart Theft Spree

NORTH CAROLINA — Four Charlotte residents were arrested Monday in connection with an active theft at the Walmart on Cooper Creek Drive in Mocksville, and authorities say the group may be tied to a string of similar retail thefts across North Carolina.

According to the Davie County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the store at approximately 5:26 p.m. on Dec. 1 after receiving a report of a larceny in progress. Upon arrival, Walmart staff provided descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle in the parking lot, where two men were actively loading stolen merchandise.

The suspects, identified as Jacob Taylor Reid, 38, and Severiano Alonso Mata, 26, both of Charlotte, were detained immediately. Deputies later located two additional suspects — Tiffany Cornelius Reid, 41, and Alexandra Marie Soma, 31, also of Charlotte — in a nearby area…
