Concealed weapons and drugs seized during traffic stop in northeast Charlotte

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man is facing several charges following a traffic stop in northeast Charlotte, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say.

According to court documents, on Nov. 22, around 9:30 p.m., an officer in the North Tryon Division was surveilling the area of the 5000 block of N. Tryon Street when they saw an individual get into the driver’s seat of a white Toyota Tundra and pick up an AR-style rifle.

The suspect exited the vehicle and placed the rifle inside his sweatpants, concealing it beneath his hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants. The suspect briefly walked away from the vehicle, but returned to the driver’s seat and removed the rifle from his sweatpants…
