CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — NASCAR, 23XI Racing, and Front Row Motorsports have officially ended their legal battle, announcing Thursday that they’ve reached a settlement that reportedly resets the sport’s charter landscape.
On Thursday, the teams’ lead attorney Jeffrey Kessler said, “As part of today’s resolution, 23XI’s and Front Row Motorsports’ charters have been returned for the 2026 season.”
The agreement comes after more than a week of testimony in a Charlotte courtroom, where 23XI Racing — co-owned by Michael Jordan and longtime NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin — and Front Row Motorsports argued that NASCAR’s system boxed teams into restrictive charter rules.
