City, county launch separate efforts to address homelessness on Catherine Simmons Avenue

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte city and county leaders are seeking solutions, rolling out separate but parallel efforts aimed at addressing homelessness and long-standing concerns along Catherine Simmons Avenue in northwest Charlotte.

The City of Charlotte has purchased three properties along the corridor as part of an early effort to bring affordable housing to the neighborhood.
