RALEIGH, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A ticket purchased in Gastonia won the $2 million prize in Saturday’s Powerball drawing.
The lucky winner bought a $3 Power Play ticket from the Food Lion on South New Hope Road in Gastonia. The tickets matched all five white balls, which the odds of matching numbers on all five are 1 in 11.6 million.
On Saturday, two other big wins happened in North Carolina. A $2 ticket in Fayetteville at a Food Lion on Andrews Road yielded $50,000 and a $3 Powerball Double Play ticket purchased in Charlotte matched all five white balls for a $500,000 prize.
