Quincey Constant, who grew up in Charlotte and attends Winston-Salem State University (WSSU), was selected as a 2025 fellow of the John Lewis Young Leaders program. The year-long fellowship is designed to prepare college students for a future in community organizing and civic engagement. Quincey was selected from more than 550 applicants from public and private universities, as well as HBCUs and Ivy League institutions.
This year marks the first time the fellowship, hosted by the Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center, has partnered with WSSU. Fellows in the program receive financial support, one-on-one mentorship and other resources to support their chosen projects.
Quincey will focus on human trafficking, raising awareness of the warning signs, promoting safety strategies, and highlighting that human trafficking impacts both women and men. His work was inspired by his mother, Audancie Constant, who did her own awareness project here in Charlotte…
