Train hits, kills man in southeast Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A 48-year-old man was killed Saturday morning after being struck by a train in southeast Charlotte, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Officers responded shortly after 9:45 a.m. Saturday along Monroe Road. They arrived to find Daniel Kotrman unresponsive alongside the southeastbound track with serious injuries. Medic pronounced him dead at the scene.
