Apartment clubhouse in North Carolina destroyed after attempt to fry a turkey: officials

MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The clubhouse at a Mount Holly apartment complex was destroyed in a fire Friday night.

According to Gaston County Emergency Services, firefighters arrived at the 800 block of South Main Street at 5:51 p.m. Heavy smoke and flames were seen coming from the complex’s clubhouse.

A second alarm was pulled at 6:08 p.m., and just minutes later a full roof collapse led to all companies evacuating the structure.
