CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Monday is the big day for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Explorers’ toy drive.
Deliveries will be made to families in need across the Queen City by CMPD officers — and even Santa himself. They’re made possible after donations have been the last several weeks at Walmart locations or division offices across the city.
Give during the giving season to CMPD Explorer’s Christmas Project Toy Drive
The Explorers’ Christmas Project has been a CMPD initiative since 1974.
QCN Anchor Brien Blakely says delivery day is one he circles on the calendar. A year after the program went to western North Carolina following Hurricane Helen, he says there are 600 more families being assisted this year.
