CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A big warming trend for the week ahead will bring highs in the 70s as we head into the holidays.
Our warmup will continue today with highs topping out in the mid-70s and likely setting new record high temperatures. A few showers will be possible across the mountains.
The big story this week, though, will continue to be the warm-up. We have been giving you the First Alert to these warmer temperatures for the last week, and they are continuing to trend up. Highs are now likely to climb into the 70s several days this week, and on a few days we could see some new record high temperatures.
Friday brings some challenges to the forecast, leaving us less confident on how exactly it will play out. A cold air damming setup will try and push a back door cold front down the East Coast and up against the mountains. The challenge? Just how far south the cold air will push down the east side of the mountains…
