Red flag warning issued for several central North Carolina counties: NWS

NORTH CAROLINA (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A red flag warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for several North Carolina counties, effective Monday, Dec. 29.

According to the N.C. Forest Service, a red flag warning means certain conditions that could lead to critical fire weather are either occurring or will occur in these areas. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can create dangerous conditions for fire.
