Fire at Steele Creek shopping center causes $150,000 in damages

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A fire at a Steele Creek shopping center caused $150,000 in damages early Friday morning.

According to the Charlotte Fire Department, crews responded around 1:45 a.m. to the Rivergate Shopping Center in the 14000 block of Steele Creek Road. Flames were showing from one of the outer buildings.

Once there, 30 Charlotte firefighters controlled the blaze in 30 minutes. Investigators deemed the fire to be accidental, and originating in the storage area of the building…
