State representative, former employees file court petition to remove Mecklenburg County Sheriff

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) — A state representative and four former employees of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office have filed a court petition asking a judge to remove Sheriff Garry McFadden from office.

In the public filing, state representative Carla Cunningham alleged that McFadden had threatened her after she voted against a bill that would require enhanced cooperation between sheriffs and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
