Lawsuit: Family claims Charlotte vice principal assaulted 8th grader, causing serious injuries

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Charlotte family is taking legal action after they claim their child was assaulted by a school administrator.

Attorneys for the Bolton family held a news conference Wednesday announcing a lawsuit against the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education, the school’s vice principal and other parties.

They claim their son, Karter Bolton, an eighth-grade student at Renaissance West STEAM Academy, was attacked and seriously injured by the school’s vice principal, identified as Sanders Fairley, in October 2025…
