PHOTOS: Driver has serious injuries after being rescued from car in Sunset Road crash

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A driver had to be extracated from their vehicle after a crash in northwest Charlotte Friday afternoon.

Medic officials say the collision with a utility pole occurred just after 4 p.m. on Sunset Road near Beatties Ford Road. Crews with the Charlotte Fire Department and Long Creek Fire Department responded, locating one patient pinned inside a vehicle.

Through coordinated efforts and careful extrication, crews freed the patient at 4:36 p.m. The patient was then transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, Medic says.
