‘Miracle on the Hudson’ survivors gather in Charlotte 17 years after historic landing

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A survivor of the “Miracle on the Hudson” returned to Charlotte this week to mark 17 years since Capt. Chelsey “Sully” Sullenberger safely landed a Charlotte-bound plane in New York’s Hudson River, saving all 155 people on board.

The anniversary event at the Sullenberger Aviation Museum in west Charlotte brought together passengers who lived through the harrowing Jan. 15, 2009, emergency landing.
