COLUMBIA, S.C. (WBTV) – The South Carolina governor on Wednesday declared a state of emergency ahead of a major winter storm expected to impact the state this weekend weekend.
South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster issued a state of emergency on Wednesday, Jan. 21, in preparation for a winter storm expected to reach the Carolinas on Saturday, Jan. 24. A combination of snow, ice, sleet and freezing rain were possible across the Carolinas this weekend.
The storm was projected to reach the Charlotte region sometime on Saturday afternoon, and was likely to last into Sunday. Impacts from the storm could last into the following week, however, with freezing temperatures expected at least through Monday…
