MATTHEWS, N.C. — An employee of the Town of Matthews is accused of setting an unoccupied building on fire.
On Jan. 23, 2026, Matthews Police announced officers had arrested 54-year-old Peter William Blaich. He’s facing a felony charge of burning certain buildings.
