(QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Winter weather made its presence known across the Carolinas overnight, leaving thousands without power and impacting Charlotte-area neighborhoods.
In south Charlotte, nearly 300 customers lost power late Saturday night in a neighborhood near Springbank Lane and Pineville-Matthews Road. The outage was first reported around 11 p.m., with Duke Energy reporting a peak of 265 customers without electricity. As of the latest update, about 190 customers remain without power in the Charlotte area.
According to Duke Energy’s outage map, there are 157 active outages, affecting more than 4,000 customers statewide.
